Welcome to The Tide's music blog-- a place for everything music related! I will be posting consistent updates throughout the week about what I'm listening to, concerts, newly discovered bands, and other info regarding my past, present and future band obsessions. Also, feel free to leave a comment under the posts... you don't have to sign up to leave comments and you can even do so anonymously. I'd love to read what music you've been enjoying, how you might disagree with me on the fact that Rilo Kiley is one of the greatest bands EVER or how Eminem is kind of a genius (I meant it when I said everything music related.) Enjoy!

i love the tide! i'll add this to my list of blogs i check daily.
Hi Amy
What a great idea!
To get the ball rolling:
Loving Springsteen as I do, I'm kinda disappointed in the new album - a couple good tracks but the rest feels kinda "same old, same old..". Anybody else feel he should move on,leave the old formulas behind and try something new?
Best wishes from Scotland (and before you ask, yes I have registered my feelings with "Save Internet Radio" - The Tide is the best music station in the world and your international fans are being denied access to it. :-( If you can't stream broadcasts, any chance you could post podcasts of the "best bits" like the BBC do with their listen again service?
I agree that the new album has that classic Springsteen sound. I do think that his song "Radio Nowhere" is kind of a new sound for him which I like... but does anyone else hear a similarity in that song's intro, to Tommy Tutone's "867-5309"? I can't help but think of that when I hear the intro...
Fantastic idea. I wish the Tide would "discover" Adrian Belew, the Bears, and the psychodots! They're among my favorite artists. And don't forget about Mercy Creek!
8675309 is evident when you listen to that song from the beginning.
I'm gonna have to listen out for some of those bands you just mentioned. Never heard any. Always down for some new music for my ears.
Funny...
Rilo Kiley has strangely become an amazingly great band. I want to see them again. They came to the Norva years ago and it was good but I was still new to them. The new album is definately great. Jenny Lewis is amazingly hot for a few reasons. Voice #1.
Who's down for some Kings of Leon!!??
I know Amy is!
Unfortunately Springsteen turned into a yammering old fool who hates his country... I wonder how many of the millions of dollars he's earned came from military/government personnel buying his music? It's a good thing for his bottomline that the country he seems to hate the most is where he is free to express his opinion... He turned that beautiful 911 Tribute into a PR stunt to promote that worthless "Rising" CD and to think I thought he was being real. I'll never spend a penny on him ever again!
Love The Tide. This blog is a great idea. I guess we are all entitled to our opinions, but I surely disagree with the guy who was bad-mouthing Springsteen. He will always rock my soul. Speaking of my soul, I fell in love with James Blunt with his first CD. Couldn't get enough of it. But man, his second is such a disappointment. Anybody else feel let down?
